So I got my hair cut today. It never ceases to amaze me that these so-called "stylists" always cut my hair the same way. Every time. No matter how many pictures I show them, no matter what I tell them, I still get the same hair cut. I have long hair and you'd think that would give me a bunch of possibilities, but no. Always. The same. Cut. I don't look good with short hair so chopping it all off is not an option. While I realize this would, finally, be a different style for me, I'm not going to go with something that doesn't look good just to have something different. I have always secretly envied my African American friends' hair because of all of their options. It would be amazing to go from long to short, curly to straight, braids and twists whenever I felt like it.
Some day I hope to find an actual hair stylists that can see beyond face-framing layers. I know he/she is out there, somewhere...
