Pride of Dixie

This is a little late, but the Pride of Dixie antique show was the last antiques show of the month (we went to a show every weekend in August).  When we got there, I was surprised to find out that I had been to this show with Mama Crab way back when I used to live here the first time.  She did pretty good that day so I had high hopes.  There was also a gun show going on (with a name like PoD, is anyone surprised?) but we just bought tickets to the antiques show.  Gun shopping is not how I like to spend my summer Saturdays...

When we walked in, a really nice beer stein caught Husband's eye, but with a price tag of $65, he kept going.  We found a lot of cool things, but we just weren't ready to spend the kind of money that it requires to go antique shopping yet.  And we don't have a permanent location so these things will come later.

I did manage to find a cool, mini pocket watch that I'm going to turn into a necklace.  Husband talked the lady down from $10 to $8.  Take a look!

The Internets wouldn't let me put it up the right way, but you get the idea...

After we walked through the whole show, we went back to a lady that was selling a ton of sparkly brooches.  One of my ambitions for when I am an eccentric old lady is to wear lots of brooches.  I figure the sooner I start collecting the better!  :-)  Well, the brooch lady was right across from the guy with the beer stein, and he remembered Husband.  He told Husband to make an offer and after some discussion, Husband walked away with his new German beer stein for $45.  Oh, and did i mention it was a limited edition, numbered design from Germany?  I think we did pretty well for our last antiques show for a while.

Holla!
